About the Lessons

Classes are every Monday at the Towson Dance Studio from 7:00 - 9:00pm. Lessons are taught by Mike Fok, and the instructors of SalsaNow. Dancers are welcome to come and dance for the entire two hours.

   - Review Session for Experienced Dancers

   - New Calls for Experienced Dancers
 
Lessons follow a standard syllabus of Rueda moves that are commonly used here in the Baltimore and DC area. Beyond that, we also feature hot, flashy moves that will have people in the clubs mesmerized. We focus on adapting Rueda moves taught in class for use in one-on-one partnered salsa (Crossbody On1). Lessons are $10 per student.


The SalsaNow Student Team
We are pleased to announce the formation of SalsaNow Student Teams. Our first team is a Salsa Rueda Team comprised of students from our Monday classes. Team practices and performances provides an opportunity for students to take their dancing to a higher level and to strengthen the camaraderie between students. Performances also provides a platform for SalsaNow to showcase material that is taught in class and to demonstrate how much fun it is to be part of SalsaNow. We are very proud of all of our students.
 
 
What is Salsa Rueda?
Rueda is a form of Salsa that is danced as a group in a circle. There are two defining characteristics of Rueda. First, all the couple in the circle do the same patterns as directed by a caller. Second, in Rueda, there are very frequent partner changes. Partners are passed around, or leaders go from follower to follower. It's kind of like Salsa square dancing. And moves you learn doing Rueda can be used in one-on-one partner dancing too. We'll show you how!
